Today bbPress 1.0-alpha-3 was made available via the download page.
A couple of major improvements include new re-added support for “deep” integration and a new notification system that will report fatal errors in plugins on activation. BackPress is now also up to scratch with the code it borrows from WordPress 2.7, meaning a lot of bug fixes in those files.
I need those that are interested in the “deep” integration with WordPress to do some pretty hefty testing to ensure that it is robust enough to remain as a supported option. Keep in mind that some of the existing login and cookie integration issues remain.
You can view the changes in bbPress between 1.0-alpha-2 and 1.0-alpha-3, as well as the changes that have been made to BackPress between revision 161 and 178.
Hackers out there should note that a lot of filenames have changed in the bb-includes directory.

rm_obsolete_rpms.py is a Python
script that deletes obsolete RPM package files
from a directory. It may be useful if you wish to
minimize the disk space used by locally stored update
packages.Changes: All warnings related to RPM headers are now printed after scanning is complete. Printing of warnings can also be disabled. A bug where obsolete versions of packages would not be processed if only one package existed has been fixed.

Drupal’ın en önemli eklentileri Views, CCK ve Organic Groups’un RC’leri yayınlandı. RC (Release Candidates) çok vahim hata tespit edilmediği takdirde büyük değişme olmadan pek yakında serbest bırakılacak demektir (Joomlacılar stable diyor galiba).
Her zamanki gibi RC, Alfa, Beta sürümleri live sitelerde kullanma tavsiye edilmez. Bu sürümleri sadece deneme veya hata avlamak için kullanınız.

İçerik yönetim sistemleriyle ilgili kitaplarıyla tanıdığımız Packt yayıncılık her sene Açık Kaynak Yönetim Sistemlerine yönelik bir yarışma düzenliyor. Bu yarışmada dereceye giren yazılımlara belli para yardımları yapılacaktır.
Geçen seneki yarışmada Drupal ve Joomla birinciliği paylaştılar ve Joomla, sonradan çağrılan bir juri üyesinin oyuyla birinci ilan edilmişti. Bu sene Drupal’ı birinci yapmaya çalışın.
